2021 Wedding Trends

All-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico provide plenty of inspiration and ideas for your destination wedding! See how they are one step ahead and already incorporating some of the 2021 top wedding trends!

Last year brought on a lot of changes for the wedding industry and couples planning their wedding. Some of these changes will continue for 2021 weddings: smaller, more intimate weddings (or micro weddings), outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions, and a focus on the details to make each wedding unique and special. For couples considering a destination wedding, you're in luck! Destination weddings fit the bill for these top wedding trends for 2021.

Pantone just announced the colors of the year - Illuminating and Ultimate Grey - which happen to be fabulous colors for a tropical destination wedding. Even if you're not too keen on yellow as a color for your wedding, you can incorporate small touches here and there in your floral decorations, which would add a subtle pop to your wedding decor.

Mismatched seating is another fun trend we've seen emerge. It's one of the best ways to spice up the overall look and feel of your event. And, since you may be planning for a smaller wedding group, you can play around with different ideas for your cocktail hour or reception. For instance, lounging areas create a chic look as well as comfortable seating for your guests!

Greenery and floral arrangements are expected to take center stage when it comes to wedding decor. The good news for destination wedding couples is that, at many all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, greenery is already provided for you and it's free because it's a natural part of the surroundings! You may need to add a few more floral arrangements to accentuate the already beautiful backdrop, but it's not going to break your bank to do it.

Lighting is always an easy way to set the mood for your reception and, with the right lighting, you don't need much else! String lights with simple table decor create an elegant setting for you and your guests to celebrate the start of your new life together!

One of the more fun wedding trends that have emerged in the past few years, which is probably here to stay for quite a while, is incorporating a signature cocktail for your reception. If you're having a tropical wedding, try adding fun details like a pineapple slice, which happens to fit with the 2021 color of the year! All-inclusive resorts try to stay in line with trends, including food stations, individual dessert treats, donut displays, and more! Resort wedding planners will work with you on the details to make sure your wedding event is unique and special.
